Tomorrow (6/30/12)I’m doing a bullwhip workshop at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention in Corvallis Oregon. If you are in the area come by!
I’ll also have a bunch of bullwhips for sale down there (pretty much everything that’s on my IN STOCK whips page) so if you are new to whip cracking you can pick up a bullwhip and learn to crack it!
Yesterday I finished up a couple of bullwhips which are 4 feet long and are 4 plait cowhide leather:
They both have a nice crack to them! These bullwhips are some of the ones that I’m taking with me next weekend when I’m in Corvallis Oregon teaching a beginners bullwhip workshop at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention.
I need to “crack the whip” here before I head down and make sure I’ve get some more beginners bullwhips finished by next weekend. My little sale that I had over the weekend sold three of the whips that I was going to take down there. That’s not a bad thing and I’d rather sell a bullwhip now rather than maybe sell one later. However now I have to try to build up a bit more stock in the next week on top of my performing schedule.
Currently I have three Deluxe Beginner’s Bullwhips in the works with the cores made and attached (with grease soaking in them) and the bellies cut out. Today I’ve got a semi full performing day, but hopefully I can get a belly or two finished.
Speaking of performing, if you are in the Seattle area today I’m performing at a small black box theater called the Odd Duck Studio tonight. I’m headlining this comedy show and I’m planning on featuring my bullwhip act as part of the show. Show time is 8:30pm and while this isn’t an all ages show, I think it’s a 16years old and up show. However if you are bringing a teenager contact the venue first because I’m not positive that it’s not an 18 or 21 and up show.

Ticket are $10 and you can get them at the door or at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/251330
If you’re around come on out it will be a fun show!
Yesterday I finished up two bullwhips. The first is an 8 foot 16 plait bullwhip:
The bullwhip above is going out in the mail to its new owner this morning. The second bullwhip is a Deluxe Beginner’s Bullwhip:
This bullwhip has been made for the beginners bullwhip cracking workshop that I’m doing at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention. While this bullwhip is intended for that workshop, you are more than welcome to buy it and I’ve got it listed on my IN STOCK whips page. Hopefully I’ll find time to make a few more before the convention starts at the end of the month.
Yesterday I had a bullwhip come in for a new fall and to get its point replaited. Here’s the bullwhip when it came to me:
I unplaited the point and shortened this bullwhip by about 2 inches and then retied the fall hitch over a new fall:
I took this out and gave it a few cracks and it’s back in business!
Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention
At the end of the month I’ll be at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention in Corvallis Oregon from June 29th to July 1st 2012. I’ll be there doing a beginners bullwhip workshop on Saturday 6/30/12 at 1pm and performing in the stage show that evening at 7pm.
In addition to teaching and performing I’ll have a little vendor table with some bullwhips for sale. If you are in the area this is a FREE event and will be a lot of fun. I’ll also have some special “convention only” pricing on bullwhips, so if you are looking for a bullwhip and are in the area come by and get a great deal!
