Here a some more whip pictures from last month when I was at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention. Here’s my booth at the Juggling Convention.
While I was there these whips showed up along with their owner Curt Carlyle.
I made this pair for Curt a while ago. It’s always nice to get to crack whips that you’ve made after they’ve been used for a while to see how they are holding up.
It may be hard to tell what’s going on, this is Curt doing some tosses with the whips:
Today I’ve got three shows, but hopefully I’ll be able to find time to finish the Deluxe Beginners Bullwhip that’s on my hook right now.
Yesterday I started working on a matched pair of 5 foot bullwhips. These will be made in 8 plait red colored kangaroo. I just happened to have a 72 dm kangaroo skin which is more than enough for the two whips.
This matched pair of bullwhips is for Curtis Carlyle who is a juggler. I’m going to be in his area performing in a couple of weeks, so we’ll meet up and he’ll get his whips (and maybe a quick lesson depending on the weather).
I guess I don’t need to work too hard on these whips right now because they aren’t going to be delivered for a little while, but I really don’t like having outstanding projects. I’d rather get it done early so that I’m not in a rush later.
Yesterday afternoon I got the insides (bolsters and bellies) of the whips finished:
I also managed to get the overlays cut out and about half of the strand prep finished:
Today I should be able to find time to get at least both of the overlays plaited.
