  1. Now I see! The stitch I did was more like the ones in David’s books. And yes, you’re right, even when using pliers, it’s still very painful for the hands! Glad you already knew the trick! Anyway, I think the whip looks amazing, and all the effort paid off. There’s this very western, rural, rough look shotwhips with sewn covers have, that I love. I may try making myself one sometime, if I ever get to gather enough lead shot, back here.

      If I do one again I think I’d use a “baseball” type stitch and space them farther apart. I probably could have done 25% less stitching by adjusting the stitching.
